Today I make my triumphant return to the blog– Lanolin cream by my side– and it all begins with this epic news. Kanye West. And his girlfriend/babymama/she who shall remain nameless are officially engaged. This is happening. It’s real. One of my favorite rappers is about to be… wait for it… cringe… aghhhh…. Kim Kardashian got the birthday surprise of a lifetime tonight.
The E! star is engaged to longtime love Kanye West, the rapper popping the question in front of their friends and family at AT&T Park in San Francisco.Kanye, whose Yeezus Tour touches down in nearby San Jose tomorrow night, rented out the stadium for the occasion. The couple have actually been the subject of marriage rumors for over a year, with Kris telling E! News all the way back in August 2012 that the family “adored” Kanye and “we think they make an amazing couple. We just want them to be happy.”
“[Marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don’t have this sense of urgency about it,” the twice-divorced Kim herself said in the February 2013 issue of Cosmpolitan. “I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me.”
Well, since the birth of little baby Nori, I think we all kinda saw this coming. If you’ve seen any of Kanye‘s recent appearances he lit’rally cannot stop talking about his boo. It’s awkward… and kind of sweet and endearing… and awkward, LOL. He was for real on Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel talking about how she deserved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it was that thing where nobody had even brought her or that issue up– you could just tell he was looking for any excuse to talk about her. LOL, it was adorable! But also really weird because, I mean. Ya know. I love Yeezy and I think he’s so effing smart, and now he’s legit marrying
Irregardless of what we all think, I do believe Kanye is a man in lurve and I gotta wish him the best. As strange as this pairing may seem to some, I actually think these two are the real deal and will be together forever/for a hella long time. As long as they don’t start filming a Newlyweds-esque reality show for E!, I’m in. So, congrats Kanye!
