A snow plow drives down Brainerd Street after Winter Storm Nemo in Boston, Saturday. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has apologized for the speed of the city's snow cleanup, as some streets remain unplowed. Some officials complained of shoddy work by private snowplow operators.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino reportedly apologized, Monday, for the pace of the city's snow removal efforts, which left some streets still unplowed, two days after Winter Storm Nemo's two-foot-plus snow attack on the Hub.

?I apologize for it,? Menino reportedly told the Boston Globe. A reporter asked what he would say to residents whose streets are still snowed in. ?We?ll get there as quickly as possible," he said. "Sometimes you have to be patient in a storm of this magnitude.?

Menino spokeswoman Dot Joyce told the Boston Herald the city will review GPS tracking devices installed on snowplows, after a city councilor complained of shoddy work by private plow truck contractors.

?I don?t think it was good,? City Councilor Frank Baker, of Boston neighborhoods Dorchester and Mattapan, told the Herald Monday. ?I don?t think it was good at all. ? Some people didn?t see a plow until yesterday. A fair amount of streets just got plowed last night. All of those side streets got overlooked.?

Residents of Tower Street in Jamaica Plain ? the second-hardest-hit Boston neighborhood, according to snow accumulation tallies ? told the Boston Herald last night their street remained untouched by plows.
