Field hockey: Lindsay Hendricks scored the game-winner with three minutes remaining in overtime to lead Christopher Newport, 8th in Division III, to a 2-1 win over Wilson in its regular-season finale. It was the 14th straight win for the Captains (16-1). Wilson took a 1-0 lead 4:45 into the contest, but a Belle Tunstall goal off an assist from Allie Hackbarth tied the game late in the second half.

CNU, 4-0 in overtime games on the season, registered its second straight OT victory. Friday, the Captains beat Houghton 2-1 in double OT.

CNU awaits word on who and where it will play in the NCAA Division III tournament. The first round begins Wednesday.

More field hockey: Top-seeded Drexel won its first CAA championship after beating second-seeded Northeastern 2-1 in overtime.

Christina Conrad scored the game-winner three minutes into the extra session, giving the Dragons (15-6) an automatic berth in the NCAA Division I tournament, which begins next weekend.

Women?s soccer: Eighth-ranked Virginia beat No. 7 Maryland 4-0 to win the ACC championship in Cary, N.C and gain an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. The Cavaliers (16-4-1) won their second conference championship, matching the 2004 squad?s accomplishment.

The field of 64 will be announced Monday afternoon and first round action begins Friday. ...

Hofstra beat UNC Wilmington 2-1 in double overtime to win the CAA championship in Williamsburg.

Men?s soccer: Roanoke beat Virginia Wesleyan 1-0 in double-overtime to win the ODAC championship in Salem.

Women?s basketball: ODU sophomore Shea Kelley had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Old Dominion past Elizabeth City State 70-50 in an exhibition game at the Constant Center. ...

William and Mary?s exhibition against Davis & Elkins was canceled due to travel disruptions in the Elkins, W.Va., region caused by Hurricane Sandy.
