UPND to 'occupy' parliament and picket MPs over Sata's selfish ...

Opposition UPND supporters plans to march to parliament and picket law makers ?to urge them to block the K1.4 billion that ?president Michael Sata has allocated to himself to build a retirement house.

The UPND has notified police that they will walk peacefully from their Secretariat in Rhodes Park to Parliament buildings on November 15, 2012, (Next week Thursday).

The UPND supporters and their leaders will also be marching against the allocation K20 billion to a constitution making process that has no legal framework.

The opposition party has told the police in its notification signed by Kuchunga Simusamba that they really don?t need the police to accompany them as they will provide their own security to control the crowd.

President Michael Sata has started building his retirement house as one of his priorities just after one year of being in office.

Construction of retirement houses for three of Sata?s predecessors, Chiluba, Mwanawasa and Banda have not yet commenced.

There is not even allocation in the 2013 budget for construction of the former president?s houses two of which have since died.

Four months after he was elected, Sata, known to his followers as ?man of action? increased his salary and allowances by more than 100 per cent.

There has also been a public outcry among the farming community who have not been paid there money despite the on-set of the rains as well as a number of retirees who have not been paid their benefits.
